We Exist

to equipping educators with the essential tools and tutorials to seamlessly integrate technology into their classrooms, enhancing learning experiences and student engagement.

Our Story
I founded Rockensock.org shortly after joining the Sartell-St. Stephen School ISD 748 on March, 2023. Where I immediately recognized the challenges that teachers and staff faced in utilizing technology effectively within their educational roles. Despite being equipped with Mac laptops, MX Smartboards, iPads, Bluetooth systems, and other technology, there was a significant training gap that hindered their ability to fully leverage these tools in the classroom.

Initially, I hosted tutorial videos on Google Drive, but soon realized that a more tailored and accessible solution was necessary. Driven by the specific needs and requests from teachers, I began developing tutorials that addressed the exact challenges they were encountering with the technology they were given. This led to the creation of Rockensock.org—a sophisticated platform that serves as a centralized repository for personalized educational videos, product recommendations, and technical support, all designed to enhance the professional capabilities and instructional effectiveness of our staff.

Rockensock.org was the first-ever tutorial solution developed by an IT team member at Sartell-St. Stephen School ISD 748. It was designed to go beyond the helpdesk by providing ‘going all out’ support for teachers and students, offering resources that were specifically requested by teachers to address their unique technical challenges. This innovative platform revolutionized the way support was delivered, providing teachers with immediate access to the tutorials and solutions they needed—along with product recommendations and quick, to-the-point educational content—accessible with just a click.

Mission
Rockensock.org was founded with a clear purpose: to provide educational tutorials specifically designed for teachers, office staff, and paraprofessionals. These individuals have always been our primary focus, and their needs have helped shape and redefine our mission over time. As a result, our definition of “educational tutorial/video” has evolved to better reflect how Rockensock.org stands out in the field of educational technology support.

When we say “educational tutorials,” we mean three key things:

Efficiency and Conistency:
Our videos are designed to be concise and straight to the point. We focus on delivering the necessary steps quickly, ensuring that teachers can resolve issues or complete tasks without wasting time. Each video is tailored to efficiently address a specific topic or challenge.

Teacher-Requested Content:
The tutorials we create are not for general public consumption but are specifically requested by teachers and students. Our videos are meant for educational purposes within classroom settings, helping educators solve real-world problems. Unlike other content labeled as “educational,” which might drift into unrelated or non-academic areas, our focus remains strictly on enhancing teaching and learning within formal education environments.

Ad-Free Commitment:
At Rockensock.org, we understand that advertisements can be a distraction rather than a help. While we could benefit financially from sponsorships, we are committed to keeping our educational videos ad-free. We rely on community support and sponsorships that align with our mission—without commercials, except for event banners. Our product reviews are also tailored for the education sector. They are not typical YouTube reviews but detailed guides on how specific tools and technologies, used by teachers and IT teams, function in real educational settings. Products that are not relevant to education will not be featured.

In short, our mission is to provide teachers and staff with the practical, focused, and distraction-free resources they need to effectively utilize technology in their classrooms and beyond.

Vision
At Rockensock.org, we are committed to supporting the educational community through focused initiatives. Our vision is divided into three core areas:

1-1 Support
We currently provide free, personalized 1-1 support to teachers, students, paraprofessionals, substitute teachers, volunteers, and district administrators (DOEs). This support includes both remote and in-person assistance, with after-school help available for those needing technical support outside of regular hours. We are also working to establish a secure application to enhance our ability to provide safe and efficient remote support. While our 1-1 services for educational staff remain free, we also offer similar services to the broader public and community members for a fee. These contributions help sustain Rockensock.org’s operations, ensuring we can continue delivering valuable resources to the education sector.

Community Classes and Teacher Giveaways
We plan to provide free community classes for teachers, supported by contributions from our sponsors. In addition, we will host quarterly giveaways for teachers, featuring prizes from our sponsors, which will also be highlighted in our product section. These initiatives are aimed at further empowering teachers and enhancing their access to useful tools and resources.

Courses (Subject-Focused Tutorials)
We aim to build a comprehensive library of tutorials, organized into courses, each focused on specific subjects—such as Mac Fundamentals. These courses are designed to guide teachers through essential topics in a logical, step-by-step order, helping them navigate technology and enhance their classroom experience. Our goal is to ensure teachers feel confident, well-prepared, and equipped to teach with skill, confidence, and joy.

Jay has been valuable for PMPS staff the past two years. He is extraordinary at what he is able to do with his technology skills for us all, brings a positive attitude to everything he does, and is constantly checking to see what more he can do to help out. With the Mac device refresh, he has spent so much time making sure everyone feels comfortable. Jay is so appreciated by our staff"
